Through our proprietary manufacturing process, these ingredients are combined to create granules made entirely from naturally sourced materials. The resulting surface is exceptionally flexible, lightweight and durable, making it ideal for children’s play areas and sports facilities where impact absorption makes all the difference. The cork used in our ECORKFLEX granules is sourced from the cork oak, a tree whose bark can be harvested periodically without cutting the tree down. This natural raw material is valued for its low weight, insulating properties and inherent resistance to moisture. Our cork is FSC-certified, providing assurance that it comes from responsibly managed forests. The natural tree sap used in ECORKFLEX is obtained from the Hevea brasiliensis tree through small, controlled incisions in the bark, allowing the sap to be harvested without cutting the tree down. Like cork harvesting, this is a respectful and renewable process. Once incorporated into the cork granules, the natural tree sap provides exceptional flexibility and significantly greater durability than untreated cork granules.
